🌷 BIG THANK YOU🌷🥚🥚 ★POLISH AUTHOR ANNA MANDRELA★for inviting me to perform at the Żołnierzy Wyklętych film event @posklondon to remember all of those brave, freedom fighters from #WW2 post war in Poland, who continued their fight for a free Poland despite horrific opposition and murder from the #Totalitarian #Communist state and Russian aggression post WWII. TVP Polonia filmed the event and you can hear me singing The Partisans Lullaby called Dziś do Ciebie przyjść nie mogę for my hero Cavalry Officer Witold #Pilecki a beautiful Polish soul and officer who was brutally murdered by the Communist state post Second World War in 1948.
Pilecki was the first person to write a report on the atrocities of #Auschwitz 1940. RIP and was certainly not a ‘Volunteer’ but a military professional with an agenda for a Free and Independent Poland #lestweforget BIG THANKS again to @annamandrela for her incredible talk. I think you are the best authority for a discussion about Pilecki on the planet – other writers don’t come close to your understanding of the Polish soul, heart, and the humanitarian behind this incredible human being. Obchodzony w Polsce Narodowy Dzień Pamięci Żołnierzy Wyklętych ustanowiono dla upamiętnienia tych, którzy po II Wojnie Światowej z bronią w ręku przeciwstawiali się narzuconej siłą władzy komunistycznej. Pamięć żołnierzy niezłomnych uczczono również w Londynie, gdzie w Polskim Ośrodku Społeczno-Kulturalnym w ramach obchodów wyświetlono film „Wyklęty”. Przed projekcją zorganizowano wykład o życiu i dokonaniach jednego z największych bohaterów walki o wolną Polskę – Witolda Pileckiego. Obchody uświetnił występ mającej polskie korzenie brytyjskiej piosenkarki Katy Carr.

Note from the teachers in Polish praising the event :)))): Niezwykła muzyczna lekcja historii z Katy Carr W ubiegłą sobotę mieliśmy zaszczyt gościć w naszej szkole wspaniałą osobowość 🌟 Katy Carr to brytyjska piosenkarka, autorka tekstów i muzyki znanej z piosenek o historii Polski. Fanka lat 30-stych i 40-stych, gra na instrumentach vintage i nosi ubrania i fryzury z tego okresu. Jej album Paszport, będący hołdem dla tych, którzy walczyli w II wojnie światowej, zdobył nagrodę Best Concept Album na Independent Music Awards w 2014 roku. W 2016 roku otrzymała polski medal Pro Patria. Katy wprowadziła dzieci w świat muzyki i historii, opowiadając jak ważne wydarzenia miały miejsce w historii Polski i jak ważne jest to, aby o tym pamiętać. Wspaniałe interaktywne warsztaty odbyły się na dwie tury – dla klas młodszych i osobno dla starszej młodzieży. Dzieci świetnie się bawiły, a jak wiadomo nauka przez zabawę, jest najbardziej efektowną formą nauczania😊. Piosenka o misiu Wojtku była zdecydowanym hitem tego dnia!
