In this four-part series, Katy Carr speaks with US Filmmaker Mary Skinner about Polish heroines of WWII, Irena Sendler and her crew of Mighty Girls. Together they orchestrated the rescue of thousands of Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. Mary Skinner gathered many stories of these women for her film about Irena Sendler and found they were motivated in different ways to risk their lives to rescue and protect the traumatised Jewish children.
