🎶 ❤️ CONCERT NEWS 🎶

❤️Below I perform the Italian, American, Polish National anthems for their Excellencies The Mayor of Coreno Ausonio ITALY Simone Costanzo, the Mayor of Boston USA Her Excellency Michelle Wu, the President of Blonie Warsaw POLAND Romuald Reszka.I sing in a green, red and white dress to pay homage to The Siberian Cross. Many of the Polish soldiers who fought at the Battle of Monte Cassino had survived gross Russian agression and the Russian white slave trade where nearly two million Poles were stolen from their homes in Poland during February 1940 and were transported on cattle trucks sometimes 3000 km for slave labour in Siberia.

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU this month to our good friend Damiano Parraveno for his hard work organising the military events in Monte Cassino and also coordinating my concerts. We were delighted to be hosted by the Mayors of Monte Cassino and Coreno Ausonio, Italy who hosted my concerts. Below at the Polish memorial in Piedemonte, Italy.

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to Andy Gołębiowski for sharing my music on his Polish American Radio Program :May 2nd is Polonia Day, in honor of Polish communities around the world. Hear a song called Polonia, at https://soundcloud.com/…/sets/the-polish-american-program sung by Polish-Scottish singer Katy Carr, during the newest show, at the link. You’ll also hear what makes the month of May important in Polish culture and history, and more music! Thank you for listening!

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU  to our wonderful hosts Franco and Pino who hosted us in their beautiful home and made our trip to Italy the most heart felt visit we could imagine.Franca’s cooking was outstanding and we were really with the best Ambassadors for Italian culture,  culinary cuisine and heart felt hospitality. We are delighted to make wonderful new friends and I can’t wait to return:) Below are a few of my favourite moments from the visit to pay our respects and to perform for the Brave and the Fallen at the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino.    ❤️ A BIG THANK YOU  to the brave Polish scouts guarded every grave during the nearly five hour ceremony at the Polish Cemetery on Monte Cassino 18th May 2024 which was 80th Anniversary of the Polish victory.

Above General Anders’ and Kpt Irena Anders graves and the monastery in cloud. Memorial reefs in red and white signifying the colours of the Polish flag and Anna Maria Anders lays a flowers on her parents’ graves.

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU  to HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh. I was delighted to inform HRH of my upcoming Scottish musical album project dedicated to the clans of Scotland.

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to the brave Scout leader Dorota Limontas who presented me with  a beautiful scout scarf. I couldn’t keep the tears back because I was so moved to be given this scouting scarf on holy ground. Dorota has been on a world cycle tour of Polish landmarks. We talked of my new song book We Sing Our History and we came up with an idea to create it to celebrate the bravery of the Polish WWII soldiers and history of Poland and the scouting community.  The 80th Anniversary of Monte Cassino Polish cemetery event left me so moved and the sight of the scouts at every grave was so inspiring. I remembered Kazik Piechowski’s wish for me to make it a point to serve the Polish scouting community through my music and songs.

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to my dear friend Captain Krzysztof Flizak for his wonderful presence. Often nicknamed “the youngest soldier of the Anders Army,” Flizak, who later joined the American 101st Airborne, told me “Every year I come here to Monte Cassino in my U.S. uniform, which I am very proud of – but underneath it beats a Polish heart.”

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to beautiful Polish soldiers in their outstanding uniforms at Piedemonte, Italy Polish war memorial.

This soldier’s memorial performance above with his Silver sword inspired me to write this poem – foto by Militarna Photo

The Red Poppy and the Silver Sword
a poem dedicated to the Polish military and ceremony for the Fallen at the Polish Cemetery Monte Cassino 18th May 2024
The flashing of their silver swords, The echoes of their spurred cavalry boots still the mountain pass, The Polish girl and boy scouts guarding their every grave, Brings us all to a quiet splendour here at Monte Cassino.
The Polish Soldiers celebrate their glory momentFor their brothers and sisters of yesteryearThe Brave The Fallen perfect in our presenceStanding tall and proud for God Honour Country
As the sun blasts through the rain sodden cloud A chiseled, acute sense of the ancient A history is held in the palm of their presence.
And their grace connects us to spirit.
We the bystanders, the observers, the future Witness a glimpse of their fight for Freedom On holy ground we stand mesmerised by time In quiet reflection of time we must never forget
The poppies drink their Blood, their petals are Red and stained so the old song saysAnd now raindrops fall for the tears of the beloved Those that gave us their ultimate sacrifice – Life
I turn, I see the sun burst through the cloudsAnd see the most beautiful vision I have ever seen
The lone soldier with his Polish sword.Tall and Proud. Blasting out an explosion of Light
Fixed and possessed I watch, I observeAnd remember my pact with God To be inspired by The Fallen to honour and persevereThe fight for honesty, truth, loyalty and most importantly Life.
