Originally dedicated to the brave Polish pilots of WWII who sacrificed so much, I felt it fitting to share this song for the victims of the recent flooding in Poland. I absolutely love performing at community festivals – the atmosphere is truly amazing, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet local people. Compering and performing at the Bloomsbury Festival this past weekend was such a joy! I had the pleasure of meeting and watching some fantastic local bands, including new group Dandilion, who are students and alumni from Young Music Makers. This incredible organisation has been providing music tuition in Camden for 50 years with subsidised lessons! I met the incredible Kinobe – an ambient folk group with renowned jazz pianist Dorian on the keys. Their performance was just spectacular! Below I am pictured with all the band members: Dorian, Phil, Chuck, and Mal and the students of Camden Working Mens College music band. Seeing the image of a mother holding a picture of her son, Priest Popiełuszko, who was murdered by the communist state on this day in 1984, is utterly heartbreaking. Heavenly Father,
We gather in reverence to honour the memory of Priest Jerzy Popiełuszko, a beacon of faith and courage. We thank You for his unwavering dedication to truth and justice, even in the face of persecution.Grant us the strength to follow his example, to stand firm in our convictions, and to spread love and compassion in a world that often needs it most. May his spirit inspire us to fight for freedom and dignity for all.Bless his soul, and may he rest in eternal peace. Comfort those who mourn his loss and let his legacy continue to shine brightly in our hearts.We remember that he was tragically murdered for his beliefs, and we pray that his sacrifice will never be forgotten. Give comfort to his family, mother, and loved ones who had to witness his murder.
