“Tender and brave in equal measure, Paszport proves a rich, rewarding creation,” writes the Observer.
“Katy Carr has a mission: to publicise stories of the Polish forces during the second world war. In doing so she has created one of the most unusual, passionate and intriguing concept albums of the year,” writes the Guardian.
We talk to the Nottingham-born singer-songwriter, who has a Polish mother and Scottish father, about her album – released in the UK on 11 November, Polish Independence Day – which was inspired by the heroic escape from Auschwitz by Polish scout, Kazik Piechowski, in 1942.
