and her name was Ania and she came up to me saying that she was so moved by my new songs about the Polish Partisans of WW2. She told me how she had been imprisoned in the early 1980s fighting for a free Poland and that she had experienced some pretty horrific scenes and sought exile here in the UK. We both started to cry out of shock and I told her that my Polish Grandmother Joanna used to hide Polish Partisans in her cellar out of sight from the German Nazis in WW2 Poland. I realise how very proud I am to have both Polish and British blood and that I have the opportunity to link both communities to their shared history with my music. x x kc
My new album has been directly been inspired by the Polish Partisans of WW2 and I love Polish Partisans and Ja jestem Partyzantka
