With live music from singer Katy Carr [pictured above], an inflatable army assault course and free face painting, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The fun day will begin at 11am with a short address from the Deputy Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Mohammad Aslam at the remembrance gateway outside Pitzhanger Manor House where the names of officers who were killed in the First and Second World War are listed.Officers from the Royal Logistics Corps Territorial Army, based in Southall, will also be attending the event which is similar to many being held all over the UK to recognise the commitment and contribution of the British Armed Forces.
Leader of the council, Councillor Julian Bell, said: “Remembering those people who have fought and are still fighting for this country is really important. These events provide a boost for the officers and their families. It would be great to see residents and visitors coming together to celebrate the troops’ efforts while reminding us all of their commitment.”
The Ealing celebrations are being supported by the Ministry of Defence.
