Writing and Blog News –
Katy  wrote 4 blogs for Wears the Trousers Magazine about the inspiration for her song ‘Kommander’s Car’ which featured on her album Coquette.’ These blogs tell her journey of going to meet Mr. Kazimierz Piechowski in Poland, August 2009 – the last remaining survivor of an escape where 4 prisoners escaped from Asuchwitz in a Nazi Car.  You can read her entries on links below…

Documentary News – ‘Kazik and The Kommander’s Car’ is currently being shown at The Imperial War Museum as Part of The Ninth Imperial War Museum Film Festival. A documentary about a Polish boy scout, Kazimierz Piechowski, who was imprisoned in Auschwitz concentration camp and then made a daring escape.  Directed by Hannah Lovell and produced by Katy Carr. Katy Carr’s song about the escape provides the soundtrack for parts of the film. The film was inspired by the Holocaust exhibition at IWM London.


Thanks to all of you who attended our ‘Points of The Compass Tour’ – East at The George in Limehouse, East London and North at our album launch gig at The Wilmington Arms in Islington, North London. We hope you can join us for our next Compass gigs West and South London. Entrance is free albeit a donation for the Poppy Appeal at your discretion.
