Rest In Peace Grandma Dorothy Carr and thankyou to all of you who attended her funeral today
Thursday, February 23rd, 2012Today was a very special day for as it was the chance to say a final farewell to my much loved Grandma Dorothy Carr 28th August 1913 – 10th February 2012. The service was very moving and was lead by the very kind and lovely Reverend Pam Haynes at All Souls Chapel, Loughborough Crematorium. The order of service started with Robin’s Return being played and then a lovely introduction from the Reverend. Then we sang Morning has Broken and a candle of light and hope was lit. My cousin Joanna read a beautiful and moving self written poem which i will later publish and share with you, and that was followed by the wonderful hymn The Lord’s My Shepherd. After the Lord’s Prayer the Reverend lead words of Farewell and as we watched Grandma’s coffin exit as the curtain’s close I sang ‘We’ll Meet again.’
Dear Grandma – you will be deeply missed but let your song and music live on. I am so inspired that I am sure you are urging me to do something with you favourite tunes so watch this space ! R.I.P lots of love Katy x x x
Big thanks to Swans Funeral Directors of Loughborough for managing the funeral with upmost kindness and care.
