This month has offered many moments that reaffirm why I perform, travel and continue to share these songs. Thank you for your ongoing support. Below is an overview of recent events and forthcoming engagements.   Performance on 31 August — Southport, 12 NoonVenue address Princes Park, Southport, PR8 1RX (Polish Day Merseyside Fun Fair — free entry all welcome) On 31 August, I will be performing at Princes Park in Southport as part of Polish Day Merseyside, an event that brings together families, artists and cultural organisations in a celebratory setting. Merseyside Polonia has worked tirelessly to strengthen Polish cultural life in the North West. I would like to acknowledge the work of Gosia McKane, Director of Merseyside Polonia, whose leadership and dedication have made this event possible. This celebration is officially sponsored by the Polish Senate and supported by the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Manchester, reflecting the significance of the cultural and historical themes being honoured. I am deeply honoured to perform at an event attended by dignitaries, cultural leaders and representatives of Polish organisations across the United Kingdom.   The Significance of my Performance on 31 AugustThis year’s performance carries particular meaning. I will present songs from both Poland and England, allowing the musical traditions of two homelands to meet echoing the historical connections forged between the nations during the Second World War. I will also pay tribute to Mieczysław Fogg, one of Poland’s most cherished vocalists from the 1920s ans 30s. His work sustained hope during difficult times, and with 2026 dedicated to his memory by the Polish Senate, I am proud to share his legacy with a British audience. For me, 31 August represents not only a concert, but a moment of cultural unity and remembrance.    Polish Day Merseyside — Why This Event MattersThis event is important because: • It honours the shared history of Polish pilots and British fairground families during the Second World War. • It celebrates individuals who demonstrated extraordinary courage. • It brings history to life for families and future generations. • It strengthens the longstanding Polish–British friendship. • It highlights that freedom is upheld not only by soldiers, but by communities who care. • It invites all attendees to participate in a collective celebration of heritage. The evening will feature: Helen McCookerybook Caroline Trettine John Hegley Rik Kenton A band led by Mark Braby, with Leo von Bulow‑Quirk on percussion and cello I will also reunite with John Hegley for a duet, marking a return to our collaboration on my 2003 track “Dick Turpin”. My sincere thanks go to the Polish British Integration Centre Bedford, Gosia Brady, and her wonderful team including Michal for their dedication and support for both Polish and Ukrainian communities. WE REMEMBER In Memory — Dolly Parton RIP This month brought the sad news of the passing of the wondrful songwriter Dolly Parton. Meeting her during her London visit remains one of the greatest honours of my musical life. Her warmth, humour and artistic courage shaped my songwriting profoundly. Her legacy of more than three thousand songs will continue to inspire generations.  Thank YouThank you for reading, for listening and for supporting my work.
