Eurofolk Day 2025 – A Celebration of Song and Solidarity On September 23rd, I had the honour of performing a beautiful concert for Daily Antidote of Song as part of Eurofolk Day 2025, alongside the incredibly talented Valya Levchenko who sand from a bomb shelter in Ukraine #westandwithukraine and Amelia Hogan.
It was a magical evening of folk traditions, storytelling, and connection across borders thank you to everyone who tuned in and sang with us in spirit. Commemorating the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain This month also marked a poignant historical milestone the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. I took a moment to reflect on my past performance at Blast from the Past, where I wore my RAF pilot flying suit and WW2 hat in tribute to the brave souls of that era. That memory is forever linked to our special BBC interview with my little brother George Simmonds, and the brilliant curators at the RAF Museum in Hendon, Peter Devitt and Lewis Shelley. Their dedication to preserving history continues to inspire me.
In Loving Memory of Gabriella I’ve also been reflecting on my dear friend Gabriella, who came to every one of my concerts in London Town. Her unwavering support and beautiful spirit meant the world to me. May she rest in peace. I was deeply honoured to sing at her funeral — a final gift of music for someone who gave so much love.
