Hello lovelies!!!

I am so pleased to announce that I will be playing some fabulous concerts in the next couple of weeks celebrating the historical connections and honour between Poland and Great Britain — I am very excited about my ‘Songs of Polonia’ event on 1st November in Manchester comprising of two elements – the first part is an hour of sharing songs and real life stories with Polish speakers and Polish WWII veterans celebrating the history, culture and music of the Polish diaspora in Manchester and the second is concert in the evening – see details below :) On 2nd November I will be singing for The Polish Order of Malta Volunteers in Mayfair and on 10th November I will be singing Polish patriotic songs at a special event organised by the Jagiellonian University, Krakow in London at the Polish Club Ognisko in Kensington. Exciting news – on 12th November we will be playing a special concert in connection with Songlines Music Magazine supporting the Antonio Forcione Trio at the Royal Albert Hall and we are VERY EXCITED! In addition my wonderful film collaborator Hannah Lovell will be accompanying me to Belfast for a special concert at Belfast City Hall as part of Belfast Music Week in Ireland.

7:30pm : Katy Carr and the Aviators concert at the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, The University of Manchester, Bridgeford St, Manchester, UK, M13 9PL : concert partners are in connection with Platforma festival and the University of Manchester. 2nd November : two solo Katy Carr shows The Polish Order of Malta Volunteers : The Savile Club, 69 Brook Street, Mayfair London W1K 4ER Tel: +44 (0)20 7629 5462 Katy will also be appearing at a special event at 4 Devonia Rd, Islington, London N1 8JH 10th November : Katy Carr sing-a-long at Club Ognisko, 55 Prince’s Gate | Exhibition Road, London SW7 2PN, England (Kensington and Hyde Park) – event organised by The Jagiellonian University, Polish Research Centre in London – see this link : The Living Workroom of Polish Culture : The meeting will be conducted by Katy Carr, a British singer of Polish origin, Waldemar Domański, the head of the Library of Polish song and the originator of the idea of “Singing Lessons” in the Krakow Market, and Paweł Żaba, a composer from Bristol. We promise unusual arrangements of the songs, as well as that you will be able to sing as much as your heart (and soul) desire. Katy Carr’s Awards :
In January 2013 Katy Carr received the Award for Culture from The Polish Daily – Dziennik Polski as part of the prestigious Dziennik Polski (United Kingdom) People of the Year Awards for her efforts in connecting both British and Polish communities together through her musical performances, film screenings and outreach work to both the young and the elderly in Great Britain.
Katy Carr was nominated for the London Music Award 2012 alongside Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Arctic Monkeys, The Good, the Bad & the Queen, Metromony, Ed Sheeran, Jim Jones Review, The Unthanks and Laura Marling.
