KATY CARR’S MARCH 2011 EVENTS
I am very excited to announce that in association with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland here in London, Kazimierz, ‘Kazik’ Piechowski whose incredible story of escape from Auschwitz concentration camp inspiring both my song ‘Kommander’s Car’ and documentary, ‘Kazik and the Kommander’s Car’ will be visiting Britain for the first time at the end of March 2011 for a series of special events…. Kazik is now 91 years old and his story is a great inspiration to all of us so these events are not to be missed! [Please see details below.] In addition not only have the Arts Council of England granted funding for the Katy Carr and the Aviators ‘Escapologist’ Tour around the UK, April – Jun 2011 but  I have also landed the support slot for the British Barber Shop Boys 2011 UK tour so will no doubt more of you all this 2011!
I am putting a request out – i have to play music and visit carehomes and schools with regards part of my Arts council tour so send me any contacts you may have.  I am very interested in collecting responses from young people with regards Kazik’s story and also collating stories from the  WW2 veterans of all nationitites.  So no matter what story, if you have any interesting to tell me let me know and i may write about it in a book i will publish in Sept 2011. Also if you have any good care homes, schools that you think would appreciate a visit from me let me know! But most importantly stay safe, keep in touch and see you soon! xxxxxxxxx kc
