KATY CARR - will be playing with members of her group, ‘The Aviators.’ Katy will be playing an assortment of tunes from her previous album, ‘Coquette’ as well as offering us a sneak preview of songs from her forthcoming album, ‘Paszport’ inspired by the Polish Partisans of World War Two. Katy has been nominated for the London Music Award 2012 and together with her British and Polish roots will prove a wonderful support for Zakopower’s London show.

która zaprezentuje film, zagra na ukulele i zaśpiewa utwory w stylu eksperymentalnego folk-pop.

Film opowiada historię życia i ucieczki z obozu koncentracyjnego w Oświęcimiu harcerza Kazimierza Piechowskiego w czerwcu 1942 roku. Katy Carr, londyńska artystka o polskich korzeniach, zainspirowana tą historią, wyprodukowała 25-cio minutowy film i stworzyła do niego muzykę. Artystka opowie o swojej pasjii do Polski, piosenki oraz o szacunku do tych co walczyli za wolność. Katy za swoją twórczość jest nominowana do London Music Awards 2012.

Podczas spotkania zaprezentowana będzie wystawa pt. “Wojenne wspomnienia” – obrazy palone prof. Lubomira Tomaszewskiego. (Powstanie Warszawskie, Oświęcim, partyzantka.)

Lubomir Tomaszewski, architekt i rzeźbiarz, jest artystą uznanym w Polsce i za granicą. Wykonal wiele rzeźb dla rekonstrukcji Starego Miasta w Warszawie. W 1966 wyemigrował do Stanów Zjednoczonych. Nowy kierunek, w którym zaczął tworzyć był mocno związany z naturą. W 1994 roku Tomaszewski razem z Aleksandrą Nowak malarką oraz Kathryn Kollar, tancerką utworzyli grupę “W harmonii z naturą”, która zapoczatkowała nowy kierunek zwany Emocjonalizmem.
