Excited and ecstatic, I have had the opportunity to visit this fascinating and vibrant city at the height of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in mid August 2009.I have also found out much about the roots of my name ‘Carr’ and links to a country that relatives and ancestors on my Scottish Grandfather Lawrence William Carr [1914 - 2004] side once came from. Inspiration for my forthcoming single Kommanders Car

Kazimierz Piechowski’s remarkable escape story from Auschwitz, June 20th 1942. I recently visited Kazimierz and I am very proud to meet such a remarkable man. Expect to see a documentary about my own visit with regards to how his story inspired the writing of my song ‘Kommanders Car.’ More information and details to follow. I am also submitting a 7 day diary to Wears the Trousers Magazine for their November 2009 issue on the topic.

my ‘Berliner Ring’ video’s private screening

thankyou so much to all of you who came to the debut screening of my ‘Berliner Ring ‘ video’s private screening at Yuliana’s in Islington. It was an incredible party and the food was sooooo delicious including – homemade sushi courtesy of Naomi’s skillful hands, asparagus baked in bacon and aubergine parma ham parcels. my grandma’s shortcrust pastry recipe

my Grandma has been making shortcrust pastry for most of the last 86 years ever since she was ten and learnt it from her mother – although she finds it difficult to cook nowadays i have really fond memories of going to her house and having her homemade lemon curd tarts, jam tarts, apple pie and various fruit pies – blackcurrent, raspberry, victoria plum. Most of the fruit coming from her garden…
